OUR STORY
2006 - FREEDOM IS BORN
Freedom Bible Church was founded in 2006. Founding pastor, Alvin Jones, with about 5 families began meeting in an office space on Cox Road. This was 1 section out of 3 that the building held – it included an upper room where we gathered in prayer and congregation.
2006-2011 GOD CONTINUED TO BLESS FREEDOM
God continued to bless Freedom expanding our ministry to more members and led us to merge 2 sections of the building giving more space for a downstairs sanctuary and additional capacity.
During this time, we gained even more members and substantial growth that allowed us to add the 3rd and final section of the building – thus taking over that entire space for a full-sized sanctuary and multiple gathering rooms with office space. We met at 4569 Cox Road from 2006 – 2011. This is the where Freedom began and where God continuously filled our hearts with his all sufficient grace and faithfulness.
Oct 2011 - FREEDOM GROWS
In 2011, we had simply outgrown the building and with no further options to add on, it was time to move! In October of 2011, we relocated to a much larger warehouse-turned-church space on 702 North Belair Road. We rented this space for 5 years. It was amazing to see just how far God had brought us, and He wasn’t even done with us yet! This space allowed continued development and joining of members who are now elders and the core of Freedom’s leadership.
2016-2017
VISION 777
In the fall of 2015, Vision 777 was launched – this campaign was to raise money in order to purchase our very own property located on 777 Blanchard Road. With God’s unending guidance, we raised $120,000 in 90 days.
BLANCHARD ROAD
On December 3, 2015 we purchased the property on Blanchard Road. It needed an entire truck-ful of TLC – we basically gutted the building and created the space we have today!
FREEDOM DEDICATION
We officially moved in March of 2016 and held Dedication Sunday in April 2016.
Oct 2017 - KINGDOM KIDZ
God’s provision and continued blessing allowed the purchase of the house next door to become official in October 2017. This was a residential house, but His vision allowed us to see expanded office space, a full kitchen for fellowship, and small group meeting spaces.
Jan 2018 - LOSS AND FAITH
In January of 2018, our founding pastor, Alvin Jones, was unexpectedly called home. This loss was one we weren’t prepared for, but God already knew and was totally in control. The body of Christ has many parts and thankfully our partners in faith came alongside us and held us up in our time of grief. In February, Pastor Ricky Coule stepped in to be Freedom’s Interim Pastor. God’s faithfulness knows no bounds – The Sanctuary of Augusta’s only requirement to allow Ricky to step in was that we not give him a salary as they would continue to have him on staff. Glory! glory! glory! to God.
Jan 2019 - UPWARD INWARD OUTWARD
During this difficult year, we began to search for a new pastor to shepherd the body at Freedom. In January 2019, God called Pastor Eric Echols to relocate from Fort Myers, FL with his family to become Pastor of Freedom Bible Church. Pastor Eric and his family are the perfect fit to lead Freedom Bible Church into the next chapter of making disciples for Jesus Christ!
Pastor Eric is married to Nicole, and they have three kids: Samuel, Emma, and Wilson.
God is always faithful and we can’t wait to see how He will continue to use us at Freedom Bible Church to MAKE DISCIPLES who love UPWARD, INWARD, & OUTWARD!
